Where I live in Pennsylvania and west used to be part of New France, so there are a lot of place names that still have French names. I found this plaque in Oil City, PA while a friend and I were antiquing.

A friend of mine and local waitress had this ring on one day. I was instantly jealous. I told her about my project and she let me photograph it. Unfortunately a few weeks later she lost the ring in a natural outdoor spa. Glad I snapped a picture!

A man in a local shop had on a hat promoting the place he works at, a local dry-cleaners. I told him about my project and he let me photograph his hat.

A few years back a friend of mine invited me to the a beer-fest at the Pennsylvania Renaissance Fair grounds. I found this shield with a fleur-de-lis on it... in Québec colours!
